Shibes (or helpers) in DogeMiner 2 and 1 generate DogeCoin for you passively. All you need to do is buy them and they will start mining! You may also buy upgrades for Shibes as they show up in the upgrades tab.

Trivia
Originally, all shibes could be seen even if you hadn't unlocked them yet. It took a vote from VIP members for them to be unknown to improve the new player experince.
If you reach 250 Shibes total, you max the amount of Diamonds and Buffs you can obtain from the timeline.
